The Sequencer

Your 16-step pattern grid, transport, and harmony controls β€” the same workspace as Instruments, given its own place in the halo since it's core to the suite.

Select an instrument first β€” the sequencer works with whichever instrument is loaded.

Saved Compositions

Personal to this device, saved with window.storage. Community sharing across devices needs a backend β€” flagged in Settings.

Sovereignty & Format

The VAMC Format

ViantΓ© Adaptive Music Codec β€” every composition exports as a portable, human-readable grammar file, not just audio.

What gets saved

A .vamc file captures the instrument model, scale definition, pattern grid, harmony state, and generative remix rules as JSON β€” plus a sovereignty block naming the tradition's origin and custodian. This means a composition is never just a recording: it's a reusable, attributable grammar.

Sovereignty commitment

Every African instrument's cultural origin is recorded in every export. This build marks exports commercial_use: educational-only β€” the licensing terms for a commercial release are a policy decision, not a technical default, and should be set deliberately before shipping.

AI Tutor Connection

The AI Tutor defaults to the CHIKARA Sovereign API. That endpoint is not live yet, so the app stays in offline mode β€” answers are grounded in the built-in corpus instead. You can optionally connect a live provider below; nothing here is required.
